You can help us financially; both regularly through standing orders or ‘Give As You Earn’ but also by a one-off donation. You can also now donate safely online by clicking here.

Committed support is very helpful in assisting us to set budgets and to plan ahead. It makes an enormous difference to our work and helps us improve the services we can offer.

Can you join us at any of our annual fundraising events? Please see our diary for details.

In a variety of different ways: befriending, gardening, office work, helping at events etc. You can offer as much or as little time as you can spare. Your help is always appreciated.

Donating Goods

By donating quality furniture/unwanted goods to our shops. We also take white goods. To find out more about our two shops, please call 020 8399 3136 (Tolworth) or 020 8390 5597 (Surbiton).

Fundraising for us is a website where you can raise funds for The Fircroft Trust just by shopping online – at no extra cost to you.

If you already use online stores such as Amazon, M&S and HMV, simply use the link when you shop, and at no extra cost to you we’ll receive a donation of up to 15% from each purchase you make.

Over 2000 well known retailers are featured, and you go directly to each retailers’ own website.

Corporate Support

Do you belong to a company that could support us in any way? Larger companies in particular, will often match fund any donation given to a charity by an employee. Goods and vouchers are always gratefully received too for raffles and prizes.

If you would like to recycle directly; on your own or with a group of friends or colleagues, log onto (telephone 01273 400 185), register your name, nominate The Fircroft Trust from the list and then receive free recycling envelopes to use as and when you wish. On the website you can also find out how to donate toner cartridges.

Thank you for supporting us and at the same time cutting pollution!

Spreading the word

We are very keen to raise awareness of our work in the community and also to highlight issues surrounding mental health problems. Would you consider giving copies of our newsletter to friends and/or neighbours? Do you know of a group that might like to hear what we have to say?

If you can’t help us, maybe you know someone who can!

Case Studies

Case Story – Julie

Julie, a Fircroft Centre service user, was finally feeling well again and had been able to return to work part-time, when she was told that she needed to be re-assessed by the benefit office. Unfortunately it was done in an aggressive manner, making her relapse. Needing admission, Julie was admitted into Kingston Hospital, as there were no places in the one ward still open in the Borough. While at Kingston Hospital she found that staff lacked understanding of her condition. When a bed became available at Tolworth Hospital, she found staff stretched and unengaging and was fortunate to remember that Fircroft would support her on day-support. Once back out in the community, she attended Fircroft daily, with staff helping her through her recovery.

Case Story – Pamela

Pamela is married and has a family. She has bi-polar and is a frequent attendee of Fircroft as her illness is recurrent. When she is going through a crisis, Pamela takes herself off to Fircroft where she knows she can get the support she needs. She has found that when she contacts the Community Mental Health team’s crisis line, she often get a voicemail, which she finds distressing.

On recovering from her episode, Pamela is able to cope without any support and is very active in the community.

Pamela’s husband is very grateful that Fircroft is able to support her, as it also gives him respite during the day, to care for the rest of the family.
